Treat the lower compartment as visible storage

The small intermediate surface does not have to hold something. Leaving it empty can make the upper opening easier to read and reduce the number of objects you need to move when cleaning. An open design is allowed to contain open space.

All three offer Black, Oak, Brown and Walnut color labels, plus Smooth Surface and Natural Rough Surface options. Those labels do not establish that each item is made from the species named by a color. ETHCH019 and ETHCH020 specifically describe joined solid-wood blocks and assembly after delivery, so a seamless-looking photograph should not be read as a promise of one-piece construction.
Let the wood remain part of the bedside view
Soft bedding and a rounded wood edge offer different textures. You do not need to repeat the table's curves in every accessory. A simple book beside a small bowl can be enough to show that contrast while retaining useful space.
Pay attention to where your objects sit on the grain. A broad tray might cover the most visible area of the top; a tall decorative vase might hide the upper opening when viewed from bed. This is not a rule against either object. It is a prompt to choose deliberately, especially if the sculptural body was the reason you selected the table.
Make the morning reset easy
